I captured this photograph looking down on our yurt which sat upon a bluff along the stunningly beautiful Big Sur coastline.

The only sounds that penetrated this idyllic setting were waves gently crashing on the beach below with California sea lions barking in the approaching night, and a light, cool Pacific breeze gently rustling a neighboring evergreen.

Glamping (glamourous camping) has become somewhat trendy in the world of travel and we give it big thumbs up.

Our yurt, a circular tent used by the Mongolians for centuries, had a comfortable bed, a sitting area, running water, a fireplace, and a transparent dome to watch the stars at night from our bed.

This was a fabulous experience, and you can rest assured that we’ll be looking for more such experiences to share with you in the future.
