TSA Deep-Sixes Nudie Pic Airport Body Scanners
For years, The Roaming Boomers® and millions of U.S. airline passengers have protested against the TSA’s Rapiscan airport security scanners that were producing near-nude photographs of travelers passing through America’s airports.
Over the years, we’ve written about special pasties designed to cover your private-parts, showed you the graphic images produced by these scanners, and have even tried to make light of this intrusion into our privacy as we’ve shared a number of cartoons as cartoonists were making a heyday out of all the hubbub.
Thankfully, the TSA announced last Friday that the Rapiscan Backscatter contract has been terminated and that all of the units are to be removed. These were the units that produced all of the nudie pics of travelers.
Coming soon: no more nude pictures taken by TSA scanners in America’s Airports!
All of this is being done in favor of the Millimeter wave units which are equipped with ATR software which produces a nude avatar on the TSA’s screen rather than a detailed nude picture of America’s travelers.
Say’s TSA, “By June 1, 2013 travelers will only see machines which have ATR that allow for faster throughput. This means faster lanes for the traveler and enhanced security.”
To this we say hurrah, and we’re looking forward to the day when the TSA no longer inspects “the junk” of the American traveling public.
