Silversea Cruises is reinventing visiting the Galápagos Islands with its new expedition ship, the Silversea Origin.
The Galápagos Islands is a volcanic archipelago in the Pacific Ocean. A province of Ecuador, the islands’ group lies just 975 kilometers (600 miles) off its coast and is considered one of the world’s principal destinations for wildlife viewing.
The Galápagos’ isolated terrain shelters a diversity of plant and animal species unique to the region. Charles Darwin’s visit to the Galápagos in 1835 and his observation of native species inspired his famous theory of evolution.
The Silversea Origin
The Silversea Origin
Silver Origin is the first destination-specific ship built by Silversea. She offers the highest ratio of qualified guides per guest and the highest Zodiac-to-guest ratio in the region. Silver Origin is the only ship cruising the Galápagos to feature included butler service for every suite.
Silver Origin is the perfect expedition base for the Galápagos Islands, housing eight Zodiacs, ten guest-use kayaks, and a team of ten Ecuadorian expedition experts. The facilities and expert guides make this ship the best way to discover these unique islands.
The Origin was built in 2020 and carries up to 100 guests with 90 crew aboard.

The Galápagos Itineraries
Silversea Expeditions alternate between two seven day Galápagos itineraries approved by the Galápagos National Park Service; a San Cristóbal to Baltra itinerary and a Baltra to San Cristóbal.
The Baltra to San Cristóbal itinerary does a circumnavigation of Punta Mangle. The San Cristóbal to Baltra itinerary, visits points of interest such as Tagus Cove and Bahia Borrero in Santa Cruz and circumnavigates Punta Vicente Rosa.
Guests can opt to combine both the San Cristóbal to Baltra and Baltra to San Cristóbal itineraries into a 14-day voyage to fully experience the Galápagos Islands.

How to Book a Silversea Galápagos Islands Expedition Cruise
Carol and I have yet to visit the Galápagos Islands. However, the destination is very high on our bucket list.
And, when we do visit, we will do it with Silversea.
An important perk, for a destination like the Galápagos Islands, is that we have the ability to schedule a three-way conference call between you, us, and a Silversea Naturalist.
This is a fabulous option for those of you who might have a long list of detailed questions about the destination.
Furthermore, as we hope you’ve come to understand, we have our complimentary Virtuoso Voyages VIP Perks on hundreds of Silversea sailings around the world.
And for the Galápagos Islands, our perks is a $300/stateroom shipboard credit on select sailings.
Therefore, please feel free to call and get your questions answered.

As more and more of our clients get their vaccinations, this has become our most often asked question.
We just finished rescheduling our 542nd client vacation. How crazy is that?
And while this is discouraging to all, there is optimism in the air.
Might overseas travel begin again in June? July?
While we don’t have the answer, I have optimism about a June restart for European travel.
And my optimism grows from the fact that European ocean cruise lines, for example, plan to commence operations in March.
If that all goes well, then my optimism grows even stronger.
But today, just like the swirling last bit of water to drain from your bathtub, we are going to have to swirl through a lot of unknowns before we get there.
Grab your lifejacket, and let explore the immediate challenges before us:
Navigating the Travel Tunnel of Chaos
Perhaps most important of all, it would seem that new COVID-19 cases are falling dramatically. Furthermore, with millions receiving vaccinations each day, it would seem that we might be on the path to kicking this virus’s butt. Fingers crossed on that.
A negative COVID-19 test has become a commonplace requirement in the world of travel. I don’t expect that to change anytime soon.
However, we recommend that you put in your brain the possibility that a COVID vaccination will also be required to travel in the future. We are beginning to see more and more travel brands line up to that way of thinking. It may well become no vaccination, no travel.
Further still, I won’t be surprised to see countries require that you have at least a medical-coverage travel insurance policy before they let you in the border. With socialized medicine popular in Europe, Europeans have been footing the bill for uninsured travelers who encounter medical issues while traveling. With the added layer of possible COVID infections here and there, I don’t expect that they will continue paying medical expenses for international travelers.
Make certain that your passport has at least six months of validity before you travel. If your passport comes due this year, get it renewed immediately. The U.S. State Department is digging through a massive backlog.
We will likely have a few more months of rough seas before we can all travel again.
But, my dear friends, it won’t be too long before we see a rainbow forming in the dark skies. And what a glorious day it will be when we can all proclaim, “I’m sure glad that is over”.
If you are looking for travel experts to help you through the last remaining months of this pandemic mess, we would be honored to help.
Just give us a call or shoot us an email.

World cruises have become the ultimate travel club, and remarkably, typically sell out in a day.
The cruise will depart from Sydney on January 9, 2023, and arrive in Fort Lauderdale 139 nights later.
The Silversea Silver Shadow will cross five continents to unlock immersive experiences for guests in 66 destinations, taking in 34 countries.
A total of 40 destinations have not been visited on Silversea’s recent World Cruise itineraries.
Guests will enjoy 20 overnight calls in 17 cities, as well as 10 bespoke events—five of which will be exclusive to world-cruising guests.
For the first time in Silversea’s history, the World Cruise 2023 will include a door-to-door service for guests’ convenience, transporting them to Sydney in utmost comfort.
Guests will journey from their homes to their departure airport in private executive transfers, benefit from private assistance to their gate/lounge, and gain access to designated airline lounges.
They will then enjoy a superior flight experience from selected US and UK gateways to Sydney, Australia, experiencing a new level of comfort in Qantas Business Class with more space to relax and a dedicated cabin.
World Cruise passengers will taste the freshest seasonal ingredients and enjoy Australian hospitality in-flight, presented by Qantas Airways in partnership with Silversea.
Once in Sydney, travelers will then experience VIP arrival assistance, private executive transfers, and priority embarkation. Silver Shadow’s butlers will then be on-hand to assist guests in unpacking, should they wish.
For a preview of Silversea’s upcoming 2023 world cruise, take a peek at this exciting video hosted by Fernando Barroso de Oliveira, Silversea’s President’s Ambassador to the Venetian Society.
Highlights of the Silversea World Cruise 2023 include:
An in-depth exploration of the natural history of Tasmania and New Zealand;
A deep discovery of Melanesia’s lesser-traveled coasts, including Papua New Guinea for the first time on a Silversea World Cruise;
An immersion into Southeast Asia’s rich, multi-layered culture and traditions, with overnights in iconic cities such as Hong Kong, Bangkok, and Ho Chi Minh City;
Time spent in the Gulf of Bengal and the Indian Ocean, including opportunities to explore deeper inland;
A three-day exploration of Madagascar, with new calls in Mauritius and Réunion;
A seven-day discovery of the West Coast of Africa, starting with South Africa;
An immersive trip into the Amazon River for the first time on a World Cruise;
And new experiences in the Caribbean, with all-new calls in destinations like Ile Royale and Mayreau, among others.
How to Book the Silversea 2023 World Cruise
Of course, Roaming Boomers Travel Services would be honored to help you with the details involved in getting this fabulous world cruise booked.
We’ll do all of the work. You have all of the fun.
However, you should know that Silversea will be rolling out booking availability in three different phases:
Pre-Sale Phase 1 – this booking window (February 10 – March 2) is strictly limited to guests who have sailed on a Silversea world cruise in 2020 – 2021 or have booked the 2022 world cruise.
Pre-Sale Phase 2 – this booking window (March 3 – March 16) is strictly limited to guests who have sailed on a Silversea world cruise from 2017 – 2021, have booked a 2022 world cruise, are past and future Grand Voyage guests, or Venetian Society Members with 100+ days sailed.
Public Sale – booking is open to the general public on March 17, 2021.
Furthermore, and perhaps even remarkably, you should know that world cruises tend to sell out very quickly. If history is prologue, this world cruise will likely completely sell out the day it is released to the general public.
Therefore, we highly recommend that we begin a dialog to prepare for the influx of bookings that are certain to happen on March 17th, 2021.
Did you watch the video above? This 2023 world cruise looks like a blast. Right? 🙂
