Travel Reopening Update: June 2021
Here is your travel reopening update for June 2021.
Travel’s Back Baby!
European countries are reopening at a rapid pace.
And while there are parts of the world still shut off to U.S. travelers (Canada, Australia, and New Zealand, for example), Mexico, Italy, France, Croatia, Greece, Iceland, Spain, Portugal, and quite a number of other countries have rolled out the welcome mat.
And according to this Wall Street Journal article from Wednesday, President Biden and British Prime Minister Johnson are working on getting travel back open between the U.S. and the U.K.
Where Can We Travel Now?
The first thing we need to understand as we consider the reopening of international travel is that it will be messy.
The global tourism industry is a $2 trillion behemoth. You can’t stop and start it on a dime.
Secondly, the travel-restart is a constantly moving ball. While a destination might require you to wear a mask today, tomorrow, that could change.
Therefore, the moral of the story is twofold: be patient and expect change.
