The Leaning Tower of Pisa
The Leaning Tower of Pisa
On this day in 2006, Carol and I were visiting the Leaning Tower of Pisa.
We had just sold our mortgage company in Michigan, and the following month we were moving to make our permanent residence in Scottsdale, Arizona.
Carol had never been to Italy, so we took the opportunity to spend some time exploring Italy before our move.
As you can see in the photograph to the right, we attempted to do the obligatory photo of Carol holding up the famous Leaning Tower of Pisa.
However, I did a pretty horrible job lining up the photograph.
Carol and I have been back to Italy many times since that day in 2006. And if you ask Carol her favorite destination, she is pretty likely to answer Italy.
Many ocean cruises will poke at Italy from its shores. However, in my humble opinion, Italy is best seen from the ground.
And while a land journey involves a bit of moving about replete with packing and unpacking, waking up to a Tuscan sunrise makes it all worthwhile.
