Roaming Boomers Featured in Travel Weekly
For those of you who may not be aware, in 1991, we wrote into our life-plan that we would like to be “retire-able” when I (David) reached the age of 50.
In 2006, exactly on my 50th birthday, remarkably our dream came true as we sold our business and moved from Michigan to Scottsdale, Arizona.
However, little did we know that 2008 would bring a stock market collapse that would wipe away 45% of our life’s savings. Devastated, we decided to re-invent ourselves and embrace our passion for travel. It was out of the ashes of the great 2008 market depression that The Roaming Boomers® was born.
We learned that folks preferred a trusted advisor, over the Internet, to help them with travel planning
At first, The Roaming Boomers® was an online travel blog/website, and we quickly garnered 100s of thousands of followers. But, eventually, through the outcry of our readers, Roaming Boomers Travel Services (a full service travel agency) grew out of our website. We learned that folks were completely overwhelmed with all of the information on the Internet and preferred to let a trusted advisor help them with travel planning.
Well, our travel agency has been up and running for nearly two years and we’ve caught the eye of Travel Weekly as there is a new resurgence of travel agencies in the travel industry, and in particular, home-based travel agencies like us.
