We Roam to the Arizona Science Center in Phoenix
If you have children, grandchildren, or are simply big children yourselves, then you must spend some at the Arizona Science Center in downtown Phoenix, Arizona.
The Arizona Science Center has over 160,000 square feet of space, and will spellbind young and old alike with its many interactive displays, the on-site IMAX Theater, an on-site planetarium, and plenty of cool stuff to keep anyone engaged for many hours.
When we visited we were offered a quick familiarization tour, and then we rushed off to the planetarium to be dazzled with information about our solar system. Our knowledgeable guide walked us through the planets of our solar system, and even helped us to understand why Pluto was down-graded to a dwarf planet.
Next, we hurried across the hall to the IMAX Theater where we marveled at Under the Sea 3D. Carol about jumped out of her seat when the sea snakes seemingly went under our chairs. COOL!
Our stomachs were beginning to growl, so we walked a few blocks down the street and enjoyed a wonderful lunch at Sam’s Cafe inside the Arizona Center. We shared a plate of their absolutely delicious Southwestern fare, and also shared one of their out-of-this-world Margaritas. YUM!
If you haven’t been to the Arizona Science Center, we highly recommend that you pack your vehicular transportation device full of children, and go see this place.
You will talk about it for days! We did.
I live in downtown Phoenix and didn't even know that the AZ Science Center had so many cool things lately. I don't think I've been since I was kid, which is funny because even my parents have been recently with my sisters kids so it really is a place for people of all ages. Now I must go, and I want to try lying on that bed of nails. Thanks for sharing.
Katie,
Thanks for stopping by! If I remember correctly, they do an “adults night
out” which might be kind of fun. When you go, stop back and let us know
about your experience.
