This Week’s #FriFotos Internet Meme: Boats
There exists each Friday an Internet meme called #FriFotos.
According to the dictionary on my iMac, a meme is two things:
- an element of a culture or system of behavior that may be considered to be passed from one individual to another by nongenetic means, esp. imitation.
- an image, video, phrase, etc. that is passed electronically from one Internet user to another.
#FriFotos was started in 2010 by Jonathan Epstein (@EpsteinTravels), and at the beginning of each week the #FriFotos teams shares a theme for each Friday’s #FriFotos. This week the theme is boats.
As I began to mull over the 10s of thousands of photographs we have taken in the past three years of our Roaming Boomers adventures, the above photograph immediately popped into my mind.
In this photo, my wife Carol stands aboard the m/s Paul Gauguin overlooking the setting sun over the beautiful island of Bora Bora.
For us, that was a magical evening, and the very first thing that comes to mind when a meme around boats comes to mind.
If you would like to join in the fun each Friday, simply search #FriFotos in Twitter at the beginning of each week, and on Friday post your own #FriFoto.
Have fun, and we’ll see you on Twitter!
