Do you ever dream of following the footsteps of Paul Gauguin and running away to the South Pacific? I will never ever, ever forget this view that I captured on my iPhone (right) as we flew into Bora Bora.
Well, I suppose running away to Bora Bora isn’t very practical for most, but we certainly highly recommend a visit. To see more about our visits to Bora Bora, click here.
Bora Bora is stunningly beautiful, a destination for lovers to hide away; and as you might guess, a very aqua-centric destination as well.
When visiting Bora Bora, we recommend that you take one day and drive around the island. It’s a fairly small island. Therefore, circumnavigating the island in a day is easily accomplished. So, take your time!
Faauni Bay Village Church
I captured this photograph as we poked around the tiny village of Faauni Bay on our journey around the island.
In my reading about the island of Bora Bora, I learned that 88% of the island is protestant. Protestantism was brought to Bora Bora by the London Missionary Society in 1820. And, as you drive around this tiny island, you’re certain to find a number of picturesque protestant churches like this one to photograph.
