Day #4 – Skagway, Alaska with Norwegian Cruise Lines
Skagway, Alaska ~ Norwegian Cruise Line – This morning we found ourselves docked in Skagway, Alaska with crystal clear skies and beautiful snow-capped mountain peaks all around us.
We had an 8:15 a.m. appointment to meet “Buckwheat” Donahue (Skagway Convention and Visitors Bureau) who sent us on a two-hour trolly-car tour of Skagway with the beautiful Mariah (pictured here) who was dressed in 19th century garb.
Buckwheat then spent a glorious afternoon showing us the adjoining gold-rush ghost-town of Dyea with its spectacular setting in the mountains.
We’ll tell you much more about this when we get back home and have a good Internet connection.
We got back to the town of Skagway in time to hop aboard the White Pass – Yukon Route railroad for a stunningly beautiful journey up into the mountains surrounding Skagway.
That’s it for today. Tomorrow we will be cruising through Glacier Bay. Can’t wait!
