Best Electrical Adapters for Overseas Travelers
When traveling overseas, powering your electrical devices is one of the very important considerations to be made. You see, each country around the world has its own standard electrical plug with varying amounts of voltage coming out of the wall.
If you don’t have the right adapter, you won’t be able to plug your devices into the electrical outlet. And, if your electrical device can’t handle the voltage coming out of the wall, you may also wind up destroying valuable electronics.
When it comes to deciding which type of electrical travel adapter is needed, or the amount of voltage coming out of the wall in each of the countries around the world, we’ve written an article for you on the subject: click here.
By clicking the link above, you’ll learn the necessary electrical travel adapter required for your trip. But now, we’d like to share with you the best electrical travel adapters that we’ve come across.
In the past, we’ve purchased those multi-country adapters, or cheapo adapters for five bucks and have wound up very disappointed. The cheap adapters tend to fall apart. But most importantly, they tend to fall out of the wall when you’re trying to use them.
Our advice? Spend a few dollars more and buy a well-crafted electrical travel adapter. Our favorite is pictured above. Here’s a few things we like about it:
- It’s purple. This helps us to see them and not leave ’em behind.
- You can plug two devices into this one unit.
- They are well crafted and fit tightly into the wall receptacles. In other words, they won’t be constantly falling out of the wall.

Another Electrical Travel Tip
When you travel overseas, you’re going to have a lot of electrical devices to plug into the wall. We recommend that you have two of the proper electrical adapters with you: one for the bathroom, and one for the living area.
Because you’re going to want to charge cell phones, cameras, and computers in the living area, we recommend that you also purchase one of these travel power strips. Just plug this into your purple electrical adapter, and you’ll be able to charge 5 devices at once: four on the power strip, and one in the extra plug on the adapter.
