UK: Don’t Pack the Speedos on Your Summer Holidays
If you have ever been to a European beach, then you a certainly aware of the European male’s affinity for a Speedo style swimsuit.
While this swimwear seems unconscionable to the American psyche, this fashion peculiarity seems to be firmly entrenched across the pond.
It has evidently gotten so bad in the UK that a fashion campaign is currently being waged urging men to throw the things away:
“Vacuum Packers (men who wear tight bathing pants) have been named and shamed in a survey of the worst crimes against fashion carried out by men in the summer months.” (Very.co.uk)
“As millions of British men set off on their summer holidays, a new campaign to get men to ‘Smarten up for Summer’ urges them to replace their embarrassing swimwear before they fly off. The campaign is inspired by a new consumer survey where wearing Speedos was voted one of the top 10 men’s summer fashion sins.” (PRWeb UK)
We have done a fair amount a travel, and I’m thankful to say that there are not many “vacuum packers” in the good ole’ USA.
