When we started our Roaming Boomers website back in February of 2010, we had no idea that four years later we would be the owners of a successful travel agency startup.

Our original intention was to explore the world and leave behind in our website a travelogue of our adventures that might be helpful to fellow travelers with our original travel videos, travel photography, and written stories of our experiences.

However, after a few months, we began getting requests from frustrated travelers who desired that we help them with their travel planning, and even asking if they might come along with us.

As this chorus of travelers desiring help grew louder and louder, we decided late last year to open our own travel agency and begin helping our fellow travelers with travel planning, group tours, ocean cruises, river cruises, VIP stays in luxury hotels and resorts, and so much more.

We exceeded $250,000 of travel sales in our first quarter! 

Yesterday marked the first full quarter of the Roaming Boomers Travel Services, and our success has exceeded our wildest expectations.  Would you believe that in our first quarter we’ve put over $250,000 of travel sales on our books, and it looks like we might exceed $1 million dollars in sales in our first year!  Honestly.  We’re completely flabbergasted!

As it turns out, through our affiliation with the Virtuoso Travel Network, and our affiliation with a respected Scottsdale travel agency, we’ve learned that we have significant value to bring to our clients through our travel planning services, and the buying power of the $12 billion/year Virtuoso Travel Network.

In our first quarter, we’ve helped folks travel to England, Italy, Greece, South Africa, Bora Bora, Cabo, Las Vegas, Napa Valley, Hawaii, and quite a number of Caribbean Islands.  We’ve designed honeymoons for our client’s children, wedding anniversary trips, multi-generational family trips, long weekend getaways, genealogy tours, culinary trips, wine-tasting tours, ocean cruises, river cruises, and we even have a couple of gals headed out this fall for a polar bear expedition.

And, we’re having an absolute BLAST!  Who knew that starting a new business could be so much fun.  Really.  Carol and I seem to be pinching ourselves nearly every day.
