Lately, I’ve been growing tired of looking at the background photographs that come installed on my iMac.  While they’re beautiful, with nearly 30,000 of my own photographs installed on my hard drive, I figured it was time to daily gaze upon some of my own work. For now, I’ve settled on some greens and blues from the tiptop of this saguaro I shot right in our backyard.

The saguaro flower, which blooms in May and June, is the state flower of Arizona.  Just before these beautiful white flowers adorn the top of every saguaro in the Sonoran Desert, we first witness these vibrant green buds.  This particular saguaro is roughly 10 ft high.  In the background, providing what photographers call bokeh (out of focus points of light), is a massive Mesquite tree that provides a wonderful place for our saguaro to grow.
