Carol and I just celebrated the 5th anniversary of our travel agency. And in that short amount of time, we have grown to become the #2 booking agent in the world for Viking Cruises, and one of the top 20 cruise booking agents out of the 20,000+ travel advisors in the Virtuoso Travel Network.
Frankly, our success is beyond our wildest dreams and leaves us thankful every day to the thousands of folks who have placed their trust in our travel agency.

This year my wife and I took the Danube Waltz Tour aboard the Viking Vili. Roaming Boomers provided all of the necessary pre-planning travel and administrative arrangement for our tour. All of the arrangements went smoothly with the exception of our return flight and lost baggage, which Roaming Boomers cannot control. Carol has always taken the time to assist us for two years running in arranging our Viking River Cruises in Europe.

Our trip planning was definitely “smooth sailing”. Carol and David worked with us on a 45-day excursion from Dubai, UAE to Capetown, South Africa with a 5-day extension for a safari. We can not say enough about the way the trip was planned and executed. Arrived 5 days early in Dubai and discovered Dubai and Abu Dabi with a private guide. What an adventure! Well worth it to have the extra days before boarding Oceania Cruise ship Nautica. The ship was very nice, a little dated but I understand Oceania Cruises is in the process of updating their ships. (Looking forward to sailing with them again!). What the ship lacked in updating, the crew, food, and entertainment made up for. Because this was a smaller ship the entertainment was not over the top. We were able to actually meet the performers and get to know a little about them. They were excellent in their production and performance. Very fun to watch and be a part of their shows. The excursions were different than I thought they would be. My expectations were a little too high with what we were able to see. I must say however that all of our time in the different cities was eye-opening and the people of countries we visited were so very kind and welcoming. So very glad we had this opportunity to travel to this part of the world. With all of that said, I have to say the safari was the highlight of the trip. Being an animal and nature lover I can not think of a better way to discover the wonders of Africa.

We were emailed an offer by Roaming Boomers for a fantastic deal on a 2 week trip to China, Japan and Hong Kong with Viking Ocean Cruises. They were most helpful in telling us where to get China Visas, travel advice and great plane connections. We had never gone on either a river or an ocean cruise and knew little about how to arrange one. We wanted to do a cruise for our 40th anniversary and I did some online research to find something we’d both enjoy. We decided to do a Viking ocean cruise up the Norwegian coast from Bergen across to the Shetlands, Orkneys, Scotland, an ending in London during the summer solstice. In addition to the cruise, we wanted to spend some time in Stockholm before the cruise with our son and our grandkids. I found it daunting to do this directly through Viking. I did research on travel agencies, found the Roaming Boomers website and decided to contact them and ask about how to arrange such a trip. They were extremely helpful and before I knew it, everything was arranged. There were some initial problems with Viking Travel and our flight arrangements, but Dave and Carol sorted those our quickly for us. Finally, they helped me understand the process of booking our excursions and special restaurant dining reservations with Viking, and all of those last minute details that (as novice cruisers) we needed to take care of. We would definitely recommend them to anyone needing help with their travel planning.

Paris to Normandy on the Avalon was ” a dream come true” trip. We loved the walking tour of Paris that was lined up for us before the river cruise started; the guide was exceptional in his knowledge and humor. The Avalon river cruise ship was comfortable with an outstanding cruise director and staff; we especially enjoyed the stops along the way, particularly Giverny., Monet’s Gardens. The tours that were scheduled were given by very qualified guides. We appreciate how seamless the Porters made this trip for us with our arrival, hotel accommodations, and transportation to and from the port where the cruise ship was docked. We have already recommended this wonderful trip to friends and family.

The trip on Viking River Cruise down the Rhine was more than we expected. We could not have been treated nicer. I couldn’t ask for a better planning experience. We realized in late July that there was an eclipse for 8/21. We didn’t have much hope for finding anything along the path of the eclipse that was close to the event, but David and Carol found us something in Charleston, SC right away. And it wasn’t that we had to “settle” for a place to stay. We were booked into a very nice hotel in downtown Charleston with a dinner the night before the eclipse with a local college professor who explained what was happening and why, and with a private viewing area to watch the next day. All of this with no more effort on our part than getting in touch with Roaming Boomers and letting them do what they do best!

Carol arranged for private tours in Copenhagen and Stockholm with guides that were very knowledgeable, friendly and helpful. She also arranged our private pre and post cruise accommodations in wonderful hotels. The trip was a Baltic cruise on Le Boreal, a high-end small ship. The ship is so nice it would have been a great experience even if we went nowhere. The guest speakers were mostly interesting. It’s hard to pick a highlight with so many great cities, palaces, museums, etc. But our favorite was Stockholm, which may be the most beautiful city we have experienced – but be sure to go in the summer. I would highly recommend the entire trip. Everything was flawless.

We just experienced another fabulous cruise organized IN DETAIL by the Roaming Boomers. We spent 2 weeks on the luxurious Seabourn Quest on the Fjords of Norway. If you like cruising and days at sea, this is the cruise for you. Fourteen days of which six were in transit on the Caribbean Princess. We started working with Carol Porter to plan our family’s trip to Italy in December of 2013 and didn’t travel until June of 2014. Carol worked with us to come up with our ideal itinerary and then worked directly with an Italian company that scheduled all of our tours, local transportation and most of our accommodations. Once we were off, ll we had left to do was to relax, enjoy and decide where to eat! Highlights were: a trip to a sheep farm where raw cheese is produced by hand, a gondola ride complete with a serenade that electrified the neighborhoods we traveled through, a tour of a cathedral on top of a cathedral in Assisi, and a dreamy night among olive groves.
