Save on S. African Safaris with a strong U.S. Dollar
We consider it one of our missions to provide our readers and clients with valuable information when it comes to travel. And one of the areas we constantly keep our eyes on has to do with international currency exchanges.
You see, international currencies are constantly in flux with one another, and many times this presents significant savings for in-the-know travelers.
If you take a peek at the currency chart above, you’ll notice that the South African Rand has taken quite a drop in the last two years against a strong U.S. Dollar.
Travel to South Africa hasn’t been this affordable in a long, long time!
In today’s dollars, this means a 30% savings for Americans traveling to South Africa from the levels found just two years ago. When we noticed this, we called our S. African travel partners and she said “Absolutely, the exchange rate is favourable to you guys at the moment. Southern Africa (and especially South Africa) is a very good buy for anyone wanting to travel at the moment.”
When I looked at the 5-year chart of the Rand vs Dollar, the savings is over 50%! Bottom line? Travel to South Africa hasn’t been this affordable in a long, long time!
For first-time travelers to Africa, South Africa presents one of the best destinations. There you’ll find the vibrant city of Capetown with world-renowned sites and restaurants, big savings on diamonds, an internationally acclaimed wine-country just north of the city, and world-class safaris just a short jaunt to the east. Plus, if you’re a penguin lover, you’ll find African Penguins on the beaches south of Capetown.

Explore Ireland: The Emerald Isle
Beyond Dublin: Castles, Cliffs, and Dazzling Coast
Drive the Ring of Kerry for memorable views of mountains and sea, and experience the stony isolation of the Burren, a vast limestone plateau. Brace yourself atop the windy 700-foot Cliffs of Moher, and walk among 60-million-year-old stone columns on Giant’s Causeway. Sleep like a king at a castle hotel, and visit the atmospheric ruins of Blarney Castle. Legend holds that if you plant a pucker on the Blarney Stone, you’ll receive the gift of gab.

Worried about traveling overseas?
Then the strong U.S. Dollar just might make Canada a wonderful travel destination for you in 2016!
Golly, what a difference a few years can make. We live in Scottsdale, Arizona and it was just two years ago when we witnessed Canadians buying up our real estate in droves.
However, if you look at the chart to the right, the U.S. Dollar has strengthened dramatically and our Canadian neighbors to the north are nowhere in sight!
Travel to Canada is a greater value than it has been well over a decade!

Fairmont Le Chateau Frontenac, Quebec City
As of this writing, $1USD will get you $1.35CAD. That’s a 35% discount from just two years ago! Moral to the story? Travel to Canada is a greater value than it has been well over a decade!
Not sure where to visit in Canada? Then click here and poke around a bit. Plus, if you’d like to read articles, and see photos and videos from our Canadian travels thus far, click here.
Carol and I have roamed to a good bit of Western Canada and Eastern Canada is most definitely in our sights for the near future. Number one on our list: Québec City.
What to do?
Explore the links we’ve shared with you above, pick a particular destination, and then give us a call. Because we are part of the $15 billion/year Virtuoso Travel Consortium, we have massive clout and buying power that you simply don’t have on your own.
Let me give you just one example…
Four Seasons Hotel Vancouver
Let’s say that you settled on a visit to the beautiful city of Vancouver and desired to stay at the Four Seasons Hotel Vancouver.
Our travel agency is a “preferred partner” with Four Seasons Hotels all over the world. As of this writing, the best available rate for a Deluxe Preferred-View Room (Located on the top floors of the Hotel, Deluxe Preferred-View Rooms are spacious and comfortable, with stunning views of the city skyline) is only $320/night (average/nightly rate). Not bad, right? See, that’s a huge savings from years past.
But wait, like they say on TV, there’s more…
Not only will we get you the best available rates, you’ll also enjoy the following complimentary VIP perks:
- Daily full American breakfast for two people per bedroom, served through In-Room Dining or in the hotel restaurant (including buffets).
- Food and beverage credit of USD100.
- Complimentary basic Internet in all guest rooms, complimentary premium Internet in all suites.
See what I mean? A fabulous hotel, a fabulous room w/ a double upgrade, and a fabulous rate. I hate to sound like a broken record, but when you travel, you really should be giving us a call.
And, this is just one example of literally hundreds and hundreds. We have hotels, resorts, tours, adventures, cruises, and so much more.
So. Convinced? 😀
To plan a fun trip to Canada, give us a call at (480) 550-1235, or use our convenient online information request (click here) and we’ll reach out to you. Like we say, “We do the work. You have the fun!”
