A Hazy Morning in Durnstein, Austria
I captured this photograph as we sailed away from Durnstein, Austria on the Danube River with Viking River Cruises.
As a travel photographer, this scene presented me with quite a bit of haze and sun flare as I looked back on the tiny town of Durnstein. Rather than bemoan the photograph I would have liked to capture; I decided to see if I might take the hand I was dealt and see if I might create something pleasing to the eye and perhaps create a sense of drama in my photograph.
To accomplish this, I did a little post-processing with PicMonkey and over dramatized the color with a touch of blue as well as applying a lens flare filter to my photograph. I’m feeling a little mixed about my finished product, but there is certainly a sense of drama in the photo.
Durnstein was one of my favorite stops on our Viking River Cruise of the river Danube, and I’ll circle back around at a later date to share with you some of the stunning photographs we captured walking around this fairytale-like city in a later post.
