Carol and I are just home from a glorious 4-night stay at the Montage Laguna Beach.

Our luxury baby boomer travelers enjoy stunning locations for special occasion getaways, and Montage Laguna Beach is the perfect destination to celebrate a special birthday or anniversary.

Set on an oceanfront bluff with sweeping panoramas of the Pacific Ocean and striking Craftsman-style architecture, this 260-room luxury beach resort commands 30 lushly landscaped acres in the heart of the picturesque arts community of Laguna Beach (midway between Los Angeles and San Diego), making it the ideal choice for a seaside getaway or vacation.

Our Room

The resort offers a collection of 260 rooms, suites, and villas.

We enjoyed one of the 500 sq/ft oceanfront rooms at the edge of the resort, which gave us sweeping ocean views from our patio.

Our grandson (pictured with Carol) lives an hour away from the resort, so he and his mom came down to spend an afternoon with us. And as all 6-year-old boys want to do, we spent quite a few hours at the pool.

As you can see from my photograph above, the sunsets are extraordinary at Montage Laguna Beach.

After enjoying the sunset from the Lobby Lounge, you will want to enjoy a fabulous meal at the resort’s signature restaurant: The Loft.

We found the cuisine at The Loft so appealing; we never left the resort and enjoyed a fabulous dinner all four nights of our stay.

During our stay, we enjoyed the chef’s amazing seasonal risotto, veal bolognese, roasted salmon, pan-seared big eye tuna, jidori chicken, a coffee-crusted prime New York steak, and a fabulous Niman Ranch prime ribeye. And for the ultimate in decadence, one night, we enjoyed cacio e pepe mac & cheese.

Spa

And of course, Montage Laguna Beach offers a fabulous 20,000 sq/ft spa offering eucalyptus steam rooms, dry redwood saunas, ocean air whirlpools, fireplace lounges, state-of-the-art fitness center, movement studio, and lap pool featuring stunning views of the Pacific.

Carol enjoyed a one-hour massage while I enjoyed the pool.

What an excellent way to while away an afternoon.
