I thought a little travel humor might be fun today. I’ve seen this photograph floating around the Internet and it makes me chuckle each time I see it.

This did make me “chuckle”. It is funny. My youth pastor is Canadian so I’m sure he used to see this all the time! Hahaha! 😀
mt rushmore isnt even near the canadian border
“Close” is a relative term. Mt. Rushmore is closer to the Canadian border than Texas is, so yes, it is close. “Funny” is a relative term and you seem to be the only commenter here who doesn’t think this is funny. You must live a sad life. I hope it gets better for you someday.
I agree with Jimmy. There is an entire state and a half between Mt. Rushmore and Canada. If you’re using Texas as a way to define close, well sure, but that’s obviously not going to get you accurate results. The picture has the potential to be funny, i get that, but the problem is the only reason for that is people are so uneducated they don’t realize it doesn’t make sense. It implies that Canada is nearby, which it is not, and since most people don’t know any better, they assume it to be true, and they now less intelligent than they were before because they believe something that is entirely inaccurate, which is worse than not knowing at all.
Why not change it to “view from North Dakota”?
Not as funny.

Humorous, but why not just say Mount Rushmore from the other side.
Seriously, what’s Canada got to do with it?
It’s a play on Niagara galls where the”Canadian side” IS a valid term. That’s part of what makes this funny! There is no “Canadian side.!” ?
I think that some of you are really really uptight it is funny because we think of Mt Rushmore from the US side and ever think there is another side to this. Get a life. Be less of a pseudo intellect.
