Grand Canyon Sunset
I captured this scene while on a father-son road trip with my son Joshua.
I’ll never forget the primal stirrings, which produced tears on my cheek, the very first time I stood on the South Rim of the Grand Canyon.
For this scene, Josh and I, along with about fifty other people, sat along the edge of the canyon and waited the approaching sunset. As the sky began to turn from blue to yellow, shadows fell in the canyon creating beautiful purple hues.
This scene is forever etched in my mind; my son, a light breeze on my face, oohs and aahs from the accompanying crowd, and the inexplicable grandeur of the Grand Canyon.

Ah, gorgeous! We’ve only been to the Grand Canyon once, and actually only passing through right at sunset. Great memory!
Thanks for stopping by and sharing your memories. If you get the opportunity, the Grand Canyon is well worth another visit.
