Camera Lens Rentals: Try Before You Buy
I have a new Sony A7 that I’m now using for my travel photography, and now I have the daunting task of buying new lenses. The myriad of choices can be somewhat dizzying.
Thankfully, with the power of the Internet, it is now possible to rent a lens and try it before you buy it.
I like to keep my camera gear as light as possible when I’m traveling. Therefore, I’ve been prone to using a good wide angle zoom for my one and only lens. However, my camera is so new, Sony has yet to fill out their stable of lenses for my camera.
So, for our upcoming Viking Christmas Markets River Cruise, I’ve decided to rent a wonderful lens to help me get the close-up photographs that I so enjoy taking. This is a wonderful option because it allows me to only spend a little over $100 to try out the lens before I spend north of $1,000 to actually own it.
It’s also a wonderful option when you might like to have a very long zoom lens for say, an African safari, and you don’t care to shell out $3,000+ for a lens that you won’t use that often.
Mr. FedEx man will be knocking on my door today, and I’m looking forward to taking this lens for a spin.
Lens rentals are not the only thing available for today’s travel photographer. As you can now also rent nearly any camera on the market, you can also try out that shiny new DSLR that you’ve been dreaming about.
To find lens and camera rental options, simply type lens rental, or camera rental, in your Google search bar.
Have fun!
