Bordeaux: Sample the Oysters of Arcachon
The French Poet Léon-Paul Fargue famously declared, “I love oysters. It’s like kissing the sea on the lips”.
Well, we highly recommend that when you’re in the famous Bordeaux wine region of France that you go ahead and kiss the sea on the lips by trying the Oysters of Arcahon.
On the second night of our Uniworld river cruise in the Bordeaux region of France, the ship’s staff introduced us to the Oysters of Arcahon.
Evidently, 60% of the oysters that are eaten by the French come from the Arcahon Bay which is beautifully fed by the ocean and the inland rivers of the Bordeaux region.
We greatly enjoyed our sampling of the Oysters from Arcahon, and recommend that it be on your list of things to do when visiting the fabulous Bordeaux region of France.
