This post is the result of this article I read this morning in the Wall Street Journal Magazine about Blackberry Farm and Mountain.

When Carol and I still lived in Michigan, we owned a mountain-top condo in Asheville, North Carolina, and another home in Arizona.

When we retired, we planned to spend our summers in the mountains and our winters in the desert.

However, we found that we traveled very little by owning these two properties as we felt obligated to spend time at each of them.

Therefore, with great sadness, we sold our mountain-top property in North Carolina. And out of a whirlwind of circumstances, The Roaming Boomers was born.

Nonetheless, our great love of living in the mountains runs deep in our souls.  And we are LONG overdue for a visit.

And when we go back to visit, we will most certainly stay at Blackberry Mountain in the Smokey Mountains of Tennessee.
