LON’s at The Hermosa ~ Arizona Restaurant Week 2010
LON’s at The Hermosa Inn ~ Paradise Valley, Arizona – With LON’s at The Hermosa Inn we come to the fourth stop of our seven night tour of Arizona Restaurant Week 2010.
Executive Chef Jeremy Pacheco has returned to the Valley after serving as chef de cuisine at Society Café Encore and Wynn’s SW Steakhouse in Las Vegas.
Pacheco won the “Vegas Uncorked Bon Appetit Award” in 2008, an Iron Chef-themed competition involving master chefs of Las Vegas. He served as chef de cuisine at the former Terrace Dining Room at The Phoenician and began his career at the Sheraton El Conquistador in Tucson where he was lead cook for The Last Territory restaurant. Chef Pacheco is also a graduate of the Scottsdale Culinary Institute.
The cuisine offered at LON’s can be characterized as comfort cuisine that utilizes the flavors of the region and is a product of natural and sustainable resources with the use of authentic Arizona flavors with cutting-edge trends.
As it so happens, tonight’s journey happened to fall on Mr. Roaming Boomer’s 54th birthday.
Therefore, joining us again was our good friend Victoria. Her husband Stewart decided to stay behind the camera with me and let our beautiful wives enjoy the spotlight.
And…look at what Chef Jeremy Pacheco sent out as a little birthday present for yours truly! That’s sushi-grade tuna aboard a searing-hot salt block. WOW! That was good!
We began our $39 Arizona Restaurant Week 2010 three-course meal with Hermosa Salad (baby greens, candied pecans, maytag blue cheese, mixed berries, and berry vinaigrette). Nice!
For our second course, we enjoy Roasted Jidori Chicken (basil mashed potatoes, glazed baby carrots, tomato confit, sweet onion jus).
I think it was Stewart who mentioned that he had never in his life enjoyed chicken that melted in your mouth. Generally speaking, chicken and melting in one’s mouth are not found in the same sentence.
He was right.
This was absolutely the moistest, juiciest chicken ever! And, it was delicious to boot! Major league YUM!
If you were to ask Mrs. Roaming Boomer what her favorite dessert is, she would immediately respond, “Peach Cobbler”!
Well, tonight we all enjoyed as our third course Peach Cobbler (vanilla bean ice cream). Piping hot with melting ice cream. It doesn’t get much better, right?
Well, there you go! Our fourth installment of Arizona Restaurant Week 2010.
What a wonderful dining experience we had at LON’s at The Hermosa.
We have no reservations what so ever recommending this renowned Phoenix restaurant to our subscribers.
